Will a golf simulator actually make you money

That is the real question behind every enquiry we get from a bar owner, a golf club board, or a venue operator. Not "does the technology work." It works. The question is whether it pays for the floor space it takes up.

We can answer that with venues, not projections. Premium Golf Simulators NZ has installed Foresight Sports technology in eight commercial venues across the country. Five are purpose built hospitality spaces. Three are golf clubs or retail ranges that added a simulator bay to an existing business. Different buyers, different numbers, same equipment underneath.

Two very different businesses, one launch monitor

A sports bar operator is measuring bookings per bay, per hour, against everything else that could fill that square metre. A golf club is measuring member retention and wet weather income against the cost of a driving range that goes quiet every winter. Neither one cares about spin rate accuracy on its own. Both care about whether the bay is booked.

Here is how both groups are actually using the technology.

Hospitality venues built around the simulator

The 19th, New Plymouth. Taranaki's first dedicated golf simulator bar. Six bays across a Standard area, a private Bunker room, and a Signature Suite for larger groups, all running on Foresight's Falcon overhead launch monitor. Club hire, food, and beer service sit alongside the golf, with corporate memberships built specifically for businesses wanting a place to entertain clients. Visit The 19th

Fore Seasons, Tauranga. Based in the Tauriko Business Estate, Fore Seasons runs bay bookings, leagues, coaching, and group hire for events and corporate bookings. It is built for repeat visits rather than one off novelty sessions, with a membership structure to match. Visit Fore Seasons

The Fairway Lounge, Whanganui. Whanganui's first dedicated indoor golf simulator venue, with a second site opening in Palmerston North. Casual play, group bookings, and memberships, aimed at a region with no comparable venue before it opened. Visit The Fairway Lounge

The Bunker, Mangawhai. Four bays running Foresight's GCHawk overhead launch monitor inside a sports bar built by three local tradies who wanted, in their words, to bring a piece of "the kiwi dream" to their town. Big screens for live sport sit alongside the simulator bays, with the room designed to work as a bar first and a golf venue second. Visit The Bunker

The Eagles Nest, Hamilton. Waikato's dedicated indoor golf venue, with six premium bays running Foresight's Falcon launch monitor and a VIP bay planned for 2026. Open seven days, with league nights, corporate events, and a bay sponsorship model that ties local businesses to the venue. Visit The Eagles Nest

Golf clubs and ranges adding a simulator bay

Golf360, Mount Maunganui. A full golf retail store with a floodlit driving range, mini putt course, and Foresight Hawk powered simulator studios, with casual sessions from $30. The simulator sits alongside club fitting and coaching, giving the business a wet weather option that keeps the range relevant year round. Visit Golf360

Mt Maunganui Golf Club, the Dunes driving range. A course level driving range with simulator bay booking at $70 per 55 minutes for up to four golfers, sitting inside a club that also runs weddings, functions, and conferences. The simulator extends what the clubhouse can offer beyond green fees. Visit Mt Maunganui Golf Club

Pakuranga Golf Club, Auckland. An eight bay limited flight driving range built entirely on Foresight QC Quad technology, giving members and visitors a full practice range experience regardless of weather. Visit Pakuranga Golf Club
